Anything you hit... |
Born
in Madagascar in the 18th century, Colin Ennis, more affectionately
known as Buzz is a "drumming institution" throughout Queensland. This
is evidenced by his Nobel Prize for drumming in 1995. Buzz loves
Guinness and brightly coloured shirts and is a living legend and
drumming go-to man. |

Geoff

Hailing
from Western Australia this imported piper has a reputation for nailing

|
Brett Pipe Corporal

centre for not learning tunes. He is a dedicated piper and has a
various collection of kilts hanging in his wardrobe. |

|
Danny Pipe Corporal
Bagpipes
|
Danny
is a genuine asset to the band and the celtic community in general.
Danny can be seen in many historical band photos but due to some
strange temporal disturbance he has only recently joined the band.
Danny enjoys performing solos during band gigs and outside various pubs
in Lorient, France. |

|
Robert

Robert
is not only a piper but also a driving instructor, gourmet chef,
gardener and a wine merchant. At the current tally he has the record in
the band for the most scars and hospital visits. |

A

firmly but fairly and is responsible for 90% of the band's bar tabs.
Eamon keeps the Irish pipe music tradition alive and kicking! |
 |
Pam
Bagpipes
|
Pam's
dedication to practice borders on the fanatical but is reflected in her
majestic Mo Ghile Mear solo. She is fond of Guinness, Whiskey and
Corona though never mixed together. |

|
Randall
Bagpipes
|
...the man behind the face, behind the baguette. This
man is the inspiration for the“Random Randall Award” who often appears
in the most unexpected of places with a variety of snacks and bread
sticks and when he's not fanning fires under peoples kilts he's putting
them out with the Rural Fire Brigade. |

|
Brian (Boc)

Brian
O'Connor, affectionately known as Boc is a National Treasure whose
singing performances are eagerly watched by millions around the globe.
Brian can also pipe, drum major, and fight. |

|
Mavis
Bagpipes |
Mavis
is the most organised of all the pipers and whose efforts to raise
funds always succeed in spite of other people’s' laziness. Also,
despite repeated questioning Mavis still maintains that the radiation
levels emitted by her hat are within safe levels and furthermore this
is not the same hat that crashed at Roswell, New Mexico in 1947.
|

|
Ross Bagpipes
|
Ross
is a cross between Noah and Yogi Bear. He is one of our most
dedicated learners and a lover of Austrian pipe music. Ross is a
man who has built his own boat in the middle of the bush, sailed it up
to Queensland and sold it and bought a farm and some bee hives and
decided to learn to play the bagpipes. Ross holds the band record
for the most bee stings sustained in a one hour period and also has an
essential, unlimited supply of bees wax. |

|
Simon Bagpipes
|
Simon
is a relatively new addition to the band but certainly the piper with
the most meticulously maintained moustache of us all...and with a great
moustache comes great responsibility. |
 |
Chris
Bagpipes |
Chris is always good for a laugh and his piping is an asset to the band. |

|
Selina
Bagpipes |
Selina
is a bagpiper import from Tasmania. She allegedly joined the band
especially to get her own blurb on the members page. Selina is an
expert on electricity production, whiskey tasting and healthy eating
and her offspring enjoy joining in the pipeband fun with their toy
drums and miniature kilts. |
 |
Aileen
Bagpipes |
Aileen
is definitely our most vociferous band member. She is an expert on
international affairs and our go-to band member for Russian history
trivia. Aileen is a keen piper and enjoys helping others to
improve their skills during our weekly practice sessions. After much
hands on experience, Aileen is definitely the person to go to for
advice if you ever need to remove a colony of ants from your drones. |

Sandy started with The Irish in the bass section but has recently moved
onto the bagpipes and has proven herself to be an excellent piper. |

|
Aodhan Bagpipes |

becoming a skilled beer drinker as he has been learning from the best.
Aodhan is a very friendly, dedicated member of the band.
|

|
Stuart Bagpipes |
Stuart
is a keen and enthusiastic bagpiper and a skilled soundman for the
Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He is also a dab hand at the
keytar and when not piping or making the radio sound he can often be
heard busking with solo covers of gangster rap on his portable theremin. |
 | Chris
Bagpipes
|
The
Man with the grip of Steel. Chris hasn't been with us that long yet but
when we can get him to relax he plays a mean bagpipe.

travels excessive distances to assist the band. A dedicated member of
The Irish. |
 |
Adam Side Drum Drum Kit |

the band. Allegedly very popular with the ladies. He enjoys digging
holes, four wheel driving and plaiting his hair. |

|
Adam
Side Drum |
Adam
is a software expert for the aerospace industry, so if ever you need a
self aware semi-sentient attack helicopter then Adam should be the 4th
or 5th guy you talk to. He is also an expert on Viking Death Metal and
Nissan Cube Racing. Adam somehow has an uncanny ability to publish our
performance sessions on Facebook before we have actually finished them. |
 | Sarah
Side Drum
| Sarah
is the youngest member of the band, following in her big brother's
footsteps. Sarah loves tapping out a tune with both her drumsticks and
her Irish dancing shoes. |

Lagerphone
| What is there to say about Mr Kindness that hasn't already been
said by others? He actually believes that alcohol is a food group. Mark
is a tenor drumming champion who has time between beers to teach young
whipper snappers a thing or two. A man of style! |

Wolfie is a vastly experienced bass machine whose drum rolls can be felt in adjacent postcodes. |

|
Bill

One
of nature's true gentlemen, Bill's beard and smile are a Friday night
institution as his commitment to the raffles ensure the band remains
solvent. In 2012 Bill proudly received the "Bandsman of the Year" Award
for his dedication to the band. In our recent overseas trip to Lorient
in France Bill also earned the nickname "Bollard Bill"...why not ask
him about that story, he loves to tell it!
|
 | David
Drum Major Tenor Drummer
Mace Tenor Drum | Dave enjoys yelling out commands to the band in his role as Drum
Major but is also showing a talent for flourishing as a Tenor Drummer.
Dave is always relaxed and wears a cheeky grin. |

|
Steve
Tenor Drum |
Steve
is an enthusiastic tenor drummer who diligently practises the latest
tunes and his flourishing in hotel rooms, on international flights and
his lunch breaks. He claims that he does not like to be fondled
when he has his kilt on. |
 |
Susan
Tenor Drum
|
Susan
is the pipe major’s wife so there will only be true and serious things
written here. She is always full of good ideas and helpful diagrams
with colourful board markers. Susan certainly has the neatest
handwriting in the band. She has been mastering the tenor drum for the
last 12 months and always avoids playing with a flourish. If you ever
arrive at a party that is heavily themed then it's probably Susan’s
fault. |
| Extra Members |

is a stalwart of the band whose long drives (hot laps) to practice from
Toowoomba are made in record time due to a love for V8 engines and

 |
Chris

Chris is a champion drummer whose snare rolls are as smooth as he is on
the ballroom floor as he foxtrots and waltzes his way into women's
hearts. |
| Learners |

|
Monique Bagpipes |
Monique
is one of our current bagpipe learners and is progressing very well.
She is an online news writer for “Dear Old Auntie” when she is
not working or practising. Monique can also be spotted at high
altitudes in foreign countries feeding rare and dangerous wildlife with
her feet. |
 |
Camille
Bagpipes
|
Camille
is a new learner who will soon be harvested for the main band. She is
our zombie expert and a fastidious editor, so she won't never tollerait
bad spelling, uncorrect gramma, pore sentince structuer or double
negatifs. Camille is also the only band member who got to write her own
blurb. |
 | Danielle
Bagpipes
| Danielle
is a new learner of the bagpipes and is also an ultrasound technician
who likes long walks back to her car and enjoys free parking and
probing things with a transducer. Danielle must be our current record
holder for the fastest transition time through the bagpipe lesson
syllabus. |
 | Rebecca
Bagpipes
| Rebecca is a keen learner of the bagpipes. It won't be long now until Rebecca's giant killer robot subdues us all... |
